Why and how you can join our grassroots organization with over 75 years of success
To join the LWVN, please fill out our New Member Form. You will be able to pay for your membership online via the form, or you can opt to send payment by check.
To renew your existing LWVN membership visit our Renewal Page. Note: Existing members will receive a pre-filled renewal form each fall.
Your annual dues renew your membership in local, state and national leagues. You will receive regular publications as well as a chance to be active, informed and heard. Dues for membership and contributions to the LWV Newton are not deductible as charitable contributions for tax purposes.
Please note: financial assistance is available if the membership fee would pose a financial burden. Contact the treasurer (email@example.com) if you would like assistance with the fee.
And of course, we are also pleased to accept donations, which can be made either to LWV Newton, or, for a tax-deductible donation, to the LWV Education Fund. For tax-deductible contributions to the LWV Education Fund, please send a check made payable to LWVEF to the treasurer at the address above. Membership dues or contributions to LWV Newton are payable by check or online.
Who is eligible to join?
Membership in the League of Women Voters is open to all persons (men and women) 16 years of age and older.
Why should I join?
You will gain knowledge and experience through the study and discussion of timely and important topics. Through participation in League projects, you will contribute valuable service to the community. You will discover new interests, develop new skills and learn about crucial issues in your community. As you meet others in League who share your interests, you will make professional contacts and develop lasting friendships.
How much time does it take?
It’s up to you! Many members choose to support the League only with their annual dues. Your membership alone gives us the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and a force for change. We cover a broad spectrum of issues and concerns; you may choose to become involved in one or more of them by actively participating in a group study, or listening to a panel of experts at a meeting or just reading about them in one of our publications.
What do I get?
You automatically become a member of LWV Massachusetts and LWV of the United States. You will receive their publications with information about League activities on the state and national level, and periodic updates from the Newton League of Women Voters with information about what is happening on the local level, and with information about events occurring, actions being taken, and issues being followed.
You will have the knowledge that you are adding your voice to a powerful force of members from all 50 states, Washington DC, the Virgin Islands, and Hong Kong.
